A native of Johnson City, Jonathan earned a bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from East Tennessee State University. Prior to coming to work for WJHL in March of 2003, Jonathan worked for a television production company in Atlanta, Georgia as an associate producer; working on such shows as ESPN2's coverage of the AMA Motocross series, The Peach Bowl Preview show, and a weekly newsmagazine show dealing with all aspects of motorcycle racing called MotoWorld. But the pull of the mountains proved too strong and Jonathan returned to his roots and has thoroughly enjoyed his role as news photographer for WJHL. A piece he shot and edited called "at Risk on the Tracks", earned Jonathan his first ever Associated Press award for best editing. Jonathan is married to Emily and is an avid mountain biker, hiker and bass player.
